Quality Rental has a wide variety of linens to choose from. Many people become intimidated choosing linens when presented with all of the different sizes, styles, and materials available to them. This short guide is intended to help you understand the differences. It will also soon have photos of our actual linens taken in store. This will help you to be confident in your color selections when visiting our showroom is not an option.
General Suggestions:
- Most people prefer floor length linens to completely hide the metal table legs.
- Stop by our showroom to see and try combinations in person.
- If you don't see what you are looking for, we can most likely get it for you with a little advance notice.
Types of Linen:
Plain - This type of linen is the least expensive, and typically used as a base cloth. Overlays are often placed over these cloths to add style using different textures. They are also the most cost effective solution for informal events, where simply covering the wood surface of the table is adequate.
Overlay - Usually used as a supplementary covering to provide additional color, elegance, and texture to a plain linen. An overlay can be the same color as the base cloth to add texture disparity while keeping the color pallette neutral. Contrasting colors are also increasingly popular and can give plain cloths additional styling. Planned color combinations are great when a specific theme for your event is already known.
Pattern - Some linens have special designs built into the fabric. This could be either special embroidery or different offsetting materials. These types of linen usually have no need for an overlay, as there is plenty of texture in the one fabric.
